The Video was shot inside the amazing Blue Room (Camera delle Meraviglie) in the heart of the Albergheria district of Palermo and kindly opened by the Cadili Giarrusso family. The video is directed by the Libyan director and filmmaker Sufian Ararah of the MET Film School in London and Managing Director of Khayal Production of Tripoli with the production assistant Michèle Kolmitz, Sufian Ararah’s idea is to show how the connection between Palermo and Arab culture today is still strong, in the architecture, language, traditions, and musical styles. The video frame is the Blue Room, with its balcony oriented towards Mecca, decorated with the tughras, the seals of the Ottoman sultans, and full of spiritual and symbolic contents linked to the five pillars of Islam. The choice of the piece played in the video by the mandolinist is not accidental at all: the Anatolian Capriccio (Anatolisches Capriccio), of which only an excerpt in the video was written by the Ottoman Turkish composer Zya Aidintan, who probably lived between the end of the 19th century and early 1900.
